Vehicle Direction Tracking (VDT)

Hello, 

On the UltimateALPR site and Github, there are mentions about VDT but each time it mentions it, it states this is part of UltimateITS. However, UltimateITS is not a product on your website nor a repo in Github. So, I am not sure what this ITS product is but regardless, I would like to know how/when we might see VDT as an available option for UltimateALPR. These days, knowing the direction can be extremely important in a complete (or Ultimate) LPR solution. 

Please advise.

Hi,

UltimateALPR is a subset of UltimateITS. The ITS product is available on Github (https://github.com/DoubangoTelecom/ultimateits) but the repository is private and this is why you cannot access it. We are *not* planning to include VDT in ultimateALPR. This decision is based on the fact that the price for UltimateALPR is very very low and the available features are already the same or more than the competition (openalpr, platerecognizer, qfree...). For the mobile license the price we charge lifetime is less than what the competition charge per month. So, for us the available features in ultimateALPR (https://www.doubango.org/SDKs/anpr/docs/Features.html) are far enough. 

OpenALPR has support for Vehicle Orientation Detection (VOR), we will add support for the same feature (https://github.com/DoubangoTelecom/ultimateALPR-SDK/issues/134) but not ITS.

UltimateITS SDK is still in dev and not available for sale.

Thank you for the detailed explanation and I agree with the pricing and features. That said, I might have confused terms a bit. VDT is direction "tracking". I could see that being an advanced feature that is only in ITS and not available for LPR. 

I think I was more speaking of orientation and I am glad to hear you brought that up in your email. I don't actually need direction tracking, I was looking for orientation and that is actually included in most of your competitors offerings as a default feature. I am glad to hear you are looking to add this feature. 

I will keep an eye on this feature using the github you linked as I would be interested to have it once released.
