Aborting presentation compiler

Is there already a mechanism implemented that allows users of the PC to abort it. Generally, especially the typechecker should periodically check for a cancellation flag, otherwise we have the same problem as in scalac that too often users of the IDE are blocked by too time consuming compilation cycles.
