The consortium is the creator of the DAISY standard and is leading the development of the EPUB3 specifications (the most accepted E-book publishing specification in the world) in collaboration with IDPF (International Digital Publishing Forum). The consortium is an important contributor to the w3c (World Wide Web consortium) specifications, partnership with w3c and ISO being one of the main strategic objectives. DAISY consortium consists of more than 100 member organizations & focal points spread over more than 70 countries across the world and is registered as a non-for profit entity in the civil court of Switzerland. Background DAISY Consortium develops suite of electronic book production tools for E-Book publishing houses across the world. The objective is to provide a reference implementation of the latest revision of standards being developed by the standards development team. The tools are open source and are designed to overcome the diversities by making them localizable in any Unicode language of the world & fully accessible to people with special needs. The technical development team consists of researchers of international repute located in different parts of the world. The Software developers will be part of team of researchers that is developing a suite of interactive E-Book publishing tools. developers will be subjected to steep learning curve and will be mentored by the seniors along the path. Suitability: The profile is suitable for the developers who are attracted towards the challenging environment, wish to gain experience from international team, drive to achieve beyond ordinary with a contentment of working for a mission & life for honour. Minimum qualification B. Tech. - Computer Engineering / M.C.A. from university with reputation equivalent to RECs/NITs Required skills Good understanding of object oriented paradigm Dot net C# 2005/2008/2010 Experience of working with C# winforms Acquaintance with wpf Knowledge of web technologies like Html, xml etc. Good written & spoken English Personal trates Passion for engineering. Sensitivity to understand usability requirements of people with disabilities. Good self management & self discipline is important. The developer should be able to deliver the results with minimum supervision. Drive to learn new technologies along the path. Experience, compensation & location Expected experience is 2 to 5 years. In exceptional cases candidates with experience less than 2 years can be accepted. Offices of the organization are located in southern & western Delhi. The developers are allowed to carry on About 50-60% of the work from their home because the developers will be working online with international team, it is not necessary to travel to office everyday.
