Anyone working with any ECommerce software that you can recommend?

Thanks!

This is not a personal recommendation but I've heard people say good things about http://www.nopcommerce.com

I have not used it and it has not been updated in a while but the next time I did ecommerce I told myself I would use Rick Strahl’s shopping cart.

Here is what I would say:

Hi Dennis,

My rule of thumb is that any software that does not function cleanly from the start is something to keep away from. I think we need to kiss Magento goodbye.

We are looking at 2 eCommerce tools that look like they’ll meet your needs. Both of these look to be fully featured and more importantly, both look like they have first rate support. The ISP that we use, Applied Innovations, is a NopCommerce partner and host (which is a good sign). Rachel is going to get pricing information. We also like the fact that Nop is customizable. We’ll have to contact Shopify to see if there are limits to the number of products or images. There is no limit on Nop but there may be quantity of data pricing from the ISP.

These are the sites:

http://www.shopify.com/

http://www.nopcommerce.com/

Click the View Showcase image on Nop and check out some of the sites built using it.

This will take you to the examples for Shopify: http://www.shopify.com/examples

See if you have any preference or see anything that concerns you. We’re leaning toward using Nop but I think you’ll be fine with either option.

There will be quite a bit of configuration support needed to launch the site and then some training for yourself and Becky so you can perform continuing maintenance of the site. Rachel and I will put together a proposal for this. (word this better please)

Regards blah blah.

Let me know if you like this. I don’t see any showstopper in Nop and this is something good for us to look at. Will seems impressed too. Let’s get the show on the road starting with picking this. Give some thought to charges.
