Project KPLC blackouts public monitoring system : Target Completion Q1 2012

After having suffered upto 16 hours power outages in an urban environment, I dedicate this project to all Kenyans suffering from the KPLC power distribution model. The data gathered will be of use to consumer, standards organizations and generally anyone who can bring forth significant changes in KPLC to ensure that electricity outages occur no more.

 

The idea of the project is gather live data from smart ups systems. Initially the goal is to gather the power outage data in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.

 

By publishing this thread, it is my commitment to complete and have a functional online monitoring system running by or before the end of Q1 2012.
