Job Description

We are seeking a datafocused security engineer who can bring deep knowledge of Snowflake and modern data platforms into our security organization This role will act as the bridge between data engineering and information security helping the security team design implement and manage controls that keep sensitive data safe across our enterprise

The ideal candidate has strong experience in data architecture governance and analytics platforms and is excited to apply that expertise to building and enforcing data security policies monitoring and compliance within a dedicated security team

Responsibilities

Partner with security leadership to translate data workflows into enforceable security policies

Integrate data governance and security tools eg ALTR for tokenization monitoring and activity control

Help security teams understand how sensitive data is created stored and used across Snowflake and related systems

Build processes for data discovery classification and tagging to support compliance frameworks

Monitor data access patterns to detect anomalies and enforce leastprivilege principles

Support audit compliance and regulatory requirements SOC2 PCIDSS HIPAA GDPR CJIS

Educate and guide the broader security team on best practices in data security and governance

Qualifications

4 years in data engineering database administration or data platform operations

Experience using Snowflake SnowPro certification preferred

Familiarity with data tokenization masking and encryption solutions

Strong SQL skills and an ability to map data flows across systems

Understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements

Interest in transitioning into a securityfirst role applying data expertise to enterprise security programs

Excellent collaboration skills with crossfunctional teams data security compliance engineering
