Hi,

C4L are "a provider of colocation, transit, virtual and physical
Dedicated Servers" in Bournemouth. They were one of the main sponsors
of this year's Bournemouth BarCamp.

http://www.c4l.co.uk
http://www.barcampbournemouth.org/

They've recently opened a new data centre in Bournemouth. They've been
blogging a bit about it.

http://blog.c4l.co.uk/
http://www.bournemouthdatacentre.co.uk

This from David, a C4L employee, on the Dorset Linux User Group mailing
list:
> It was suggested on IRC last week that some people on the LUG might
> enjoy a tour of the C4L facilities. I inquired and C4L are happy to
> provide a tour.

I asked, and it's open to dotDorset folks too if anyone's interested.

Cheers,
Ralph.

Hi Ralph,

I'd be up for this - sounds interesting. I'm generally available during
the week on any day apart from Tuesday (at the mo). I can put a note up
on Dorset Digital and Upcoming if a date/time is decided...

I'd definitely be interested in this!

It would be nice to be able to move some of our hosting to more local
servers.

Will you let us know when it's planned for Ralph?

Cheers

It's looking like it will be on the evening of the next Dorset Linux
User Group's Bournemouth pub meet, that's the first Wednesday in June,
2nd.

I'll post more when it's all firmly arranged. The C4Lers say they
frequent http://www.hogsheadwestbourne.co.uk/ so we may retire there
afterwards.

It's a week tomorrow, Wednesday 2010-06-02. Starting at the earlier
than normal time of 19:00 at C4L. Tour expected to be about an hour.
Pub afterwards will be the Hog's Head mentioned above.

David from C4L has put together a local map.

http://www.mail-archive.com/dor...@mailman.lug.org.uk/msg01555.html

He's also been asked for "Name, company name and email address" of those
planning to attend. See this email and the button at the button at the
bottom for how to reply directly to David; not me! :-) He's an "error
message sounding" email address, but that is correct.

Any general questions, feel free to ask or browse the Dorset LUG
archive.

Just heard from David that he needs your details soon to gauge numbers,
and by Tuesday at the latest to ensure you're given access when
you arrive.

Cheers,
Ralph.

A final reminder from me that it's this Wednesday and David would like
your details by Tuesday.

Cheers,
Ralph.
