Hey folks,

The July Dorset Digital will be the 50th (Woooo!).

At the Wareham meetup this month it was suggested that it might make sense to have this one in Bournemouth (skipping Poole this time) since the Bournemouth meets tend to be larger (so we assume easier to get to).

Thoughts?

Yes, 50th Pubmeet! :)

There was talk of maybe having a BBQ — maybe people could make suggestions?

I'm happy with suggesting Bournemouth if everybody is happy with that?

Wouldn't it be much better held in Wareham again? it is after all its smack bang in the middle of Dorset and therefore the easiest to get to for the most people...

And the last one was rather great out in the pub garden...

Being lazy - I’m all for it since I live there ;-)

However, I’m not sure that it’s easiest for most people since the distribution of folk who attend isn’t evenly distributed throughout Dorset.

As someone else said, Bournemouth is probably easiest for most people,
given most people live there. :-) That depends on them being the ones
that will go though. I've trogged over to Poole and Bournemouth in the
past and the attendees have all been from Weymouth, Dorchester, Corfe,
...

If Bournemouth was still part of Hampshire this would be a lot simpler.
How about ditching Poole. It's too near Bournemouth to be distinct. At
least that way the other three venues will get one more visit a year.

Oh, and I'm glad I was driving for the last Wareham at £3.80/lager. :-)

Cheers, Ralph.

Im happy to go to Bournemouth, for the venue change.

How many people from Bournemouth are there then? just out of interest?

Might it be better to have a meal rather than a BBQ? - Pinocchio's is very close to the Goat And T - its always been consistently good. Classic Italian.

Can I also suggest Weymouth might make a reappearance on the normal circuit as we have three weymouth bods?

I'm in Bournemouth, so somewhere here would suit me.

I'm about 3 mins walk from the G&T and there is a communal garden at the flats which could be used for a BBQ.  However I don't have a BBQ or anything for this sort of entertaining, and it's just lawn so everything needed would need to be bought along.

Having said that I prefer the idea of a meal (and Italian is great) as we aren't dependent on good weather.

I don’t have the spare tutits (and I’m not in Bournemouth ;-) to organise restaurants… so does anybody want to volunteer to organise numbers/venue/etc. ?

If not — G&T as normal? With cake ;-)

Hi, sorry for lack of comment/reply on this. It is looking unlikely that I will be able to make the next meetup, which is very frustrating :(

I like the idea of a BBQ or meal somewhere, but think we should have tried to plan/organise this a while ago. MeetDraw have a BBQ this month on the beach at Bournemouth, so perhaps we could crash that? But it might be easier to just organise a normal pubmeet at the Goat & Tricycle in Bournemouth. If somebody is up for organising a cake then that would be great. I'd also suggest calling the Goat to ask if it is ok to bring our own food - I did this last year when omebody had a birthday, and it wasn't a problem, but it would be polite to ask :)

Hope whatever happens is fun.

Our whole household/company is down with a norovirus — so I won’t be a long this evening I’m afraid. So somebody else will have to bring cake ;)

I can bring limited quantities of cake depending upon the rest of the family not scoffing it!

Very bad news, Adrian! Are you sure you aren’t just saving the cake for yourself?

I’m also unable to make it tonight I’m afraid due to an on-going server migration.

Never mind, Jon, August's is Stephen's birthday meet in Dorchester. :-)

Anyone who is going tonight might want to pipe up here or Twitter
(@DorsetDigital / @dotDorset) so Chaz knows he's not going to look all
sad with cake and no one to share it with.

Cheers, Ralph.
