Hi, yes 5 of us meetup, we headed to the Kings Arms as there was music at Tome Browns.

Some Topics/Things Discussed: (in no particular order)

Robotics (Esther and Stephen can you supply links)
Phones, Android and iPhone...
Esther's pet rabbit! :-p

Sure there where more things, but my brain doesn't want to work today!

Why am I not surprised that the rabbit made it onto the list!!? Gah!

Robotics... I mentioned that I am thinking about completing my PhD at
Highwire (Lancaster) http://www.highwire.lancaster.ac.uk/#Programme_Details
which led to a chat around Social Networking/robotics/artificial eco-
systems etc - I recommended have a look at my friends' (Vic and Paul
based at Bournemouth Uni) work... http://www.boredomresearch.net/

This is a few years old now, but was a good read...
http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?ttype=2&tid=3775

Thing I took home from the meeting... don't move back to Dorch because
you can't even pick up a phone signal let alone 3G!! (not that I was
ever going to move back anyhoo!)

Back to my boring day job!! Hope to see some of you tomorrow at
Meetdraw!

Est xx

PS I moaned a bit about this Google Groups thing... I still find it
impossibly ridiculous to work out how to use it!! Replying by email
doesn't seem to work, so have copied and pasted here - this probably
means I will have posted it a hundred times tho! It's making me feel
like a bimbo *angry face*

lol, the replying via email created a new thread, which I think is where a lot of the confusion comes from...

Thanks for updating us with the robotics stuff... hopefully see you tomorrow at Meetdraw...

I'm playing with the v2.0 of this this a little myself now. Didn't like v1 since it was very fixed-grid focussed. The current version looks like it could be useful.

Nice. I've a mate who's interested in computational artwork who I've pointed at this.

The joys of Darkest Dorset :-) It's been odd being in London this week where 3G has been pretty much always "there".. burned through my contract bandwidth rather quickly with the tethering. First time I've ever done that!

Cheers,

I agree, the new version (think 2.1+ is out soon) is a lot more flexible.

There are a number of WordPress Themes built on top of it as well.

I think Gmail copes ok when you reply by email (either something at the Gmail end or google group?) - but obviously other email clients don't... (apple v google anyone?)

Here's where i studied 'biologically inspired computing' :-)

- specifically this course:

- more here - ie some of the lecture notes:
