I've finally got something i was tinkering with online for people to see...

More blurb about what the meetings are? Link to Twitter account. The
months are `Jun' at the bottom but `6' in the markers; `1 Jun 2014'? I
guess multiple balloons would appear on the map if there were more
historical meetings in the data?

Have to admit that it doesn’t really work for me. Sorry ;-)

* Useless on mobile. Both because the important address info is obscured, and coz the date navigation dragging is way to fiddly.

* I spent a bunch of time going “huh” before I figured out the date dragging UI

* I’d say having the plain list of dates/venues shows the track record of the group much more effectively than the map does. Multiple meetings overlap so you don’t see we’ve been around a while and meet regularly.

* Needs a bit more description on what the meetups are about, like the current site

* The links to the broader local tech community are lost in the new site too

* Comes across as very dry — and we’re a pretty darn social group ;-)

But possibly I’ve just been having a bad day ;-)

Thanks - perfect - some very helpful comments...

... the idea came from trying to find the darn pub in Poole from the
train station (on a mobile) and just wanting a map to get me there...

hope your day gets better... maybe i just need to mix up the current
site and add some ways to get a map view to help getting there?

Map/directions seems a good plan - maybe even photos of pub?

Really like the idea, but agree with Adrian, needs more information as it's not clear what is being shown.

Comments (in no particular order)
• not mobile friendly - this is important
• needs navigation/menu
• about/info/contact pages?
• link to Twitter, this group, other social networks?
• link for more information?
• link for directions to meetup
• does OpenStreetMap offer support for directions? Would Google Maps be better?
• historical info for past meetups (details/info page)?
• links page

I also got a certificate error when I first visited the website - guessing you fixed this as I didn't see it this time?
