Indexing and finding a Word, Excel, .CSV, or Text file

Which documents can I add to DOTCMS and index so that I can use a Lucene, RESTAPI, or ElasticSearch call to find by inside content?

Am I only able to add and index the .CSV or Text file? What does add mean? Does it add the content or add a URL that is found by DotCMS?
