In dotCMS 5.x when modifying an image, the latest version of the image isn't reflected in your content.

  1. Upload a color image
  2. Create a piece of content and add the image to it
  3. Save and Publish
  4. Edit the Image and make it grayscale
  5. Re-open the content
  6. Notice that by default the content is still referring to the color version of the image and not the grayscale version. This is because by default dotCMS will reference the inode v.s. the identifer.
Add the following to your dotmarketing-config-ext.properties file and perform the steps above a second time with a different image.

WYSIWYG_IMAGE_URL_PATTERN=/dA/{identifier}/{name}?language_id={languageId}
