[5.1.6] File based container content not showing up in edit mode

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if someone could help me with an issue I am having in dotCMS with a container I've created using vtl files.

Essentially, when I am in edit mode on a page that uses my container and I select content to display, nothing shows up. Instead, dotCMS displaying an empty block as you can see in screenshot 1 (upper block).

As a test, I've also created a container using the dotCMS UI with the exact same code that I put inside the vtl files for my original container and it displays content fine as you can also seen in screenshot 2 (lower block).

What's really interesting, however, is that if I switch to live view, both the content for my dotCMS UI created container and my file based vtl container render content fine (see screenshot 2).

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or have an idea as to what might causing it to happen?
