dotCMS Backup and Restore

What is the best practice for backing up content/data and then if necessary restoring that backup back into dotCMS? I assume it might be a combination of bundle exports, asset export and dbDump but want to be sure. In bundle download there are several options present which are not clearly explained in the documentation.
