We have an ancient version of the dotCMS software (2.5.1) and we have no support.

I was editing a role, and changing which tabs and tools they had access to, but instead it removed the tools for all users, even admin.
My user profile (which is a CMS Administrator) has this message at the bottom:

 Warning: you do not have Role, Tabs and Tools enabled.

When an admin user logs in, we still are missing the tools.

How can we restore the tools?

Thanks for any help!

Do you have a recent database backup? You might have to restore from there.

Could you give us a screenshot of what you *do* see after logging in?
Do  you have access to the SQL from the server? There's probably a query that will fix it.

Here's my URL for Roles & Tabs:
/c/portal/layout?p_l_id=612b2eb5-93ad-4ee7-a3e5-d76dbe7057a6&p_p_id=EXT_ROLE_ADMIN&p_p_action=0&&dm_rlout=1&r=1643644938011

Perhaps after logging in, you can manipulate the URL with the above to get to the edit role?
I don't really know what the bits above do (maybe change the p_I_id to use whatever is showing up in your url currently?

We ended up restoring from a backup and it was fine. Thanks for the comments!
