Don't know if this has already been spotted, but dotApp and .app have previously been registered as a trademark in the US although registration ultimately failed due to apparently not being followed through to the end:

There's also this which I don't fully understand - doesn't seem to be a trademark registration, merely a signal of intent?

I know it's still early days, but has any thought been given to applying for such a trademark before somebody else does?

Can that be a problem for us in scope of getting application accepted
by ICAAN?

Under who's jurisdiction is .app domain? I.e. if I have a .app
trademark registered in Ukraine/Poland/wherever what's the resolution?

I don't think having a trademark would be a requirement of icaan, however if it where it would be a trademark in relation to the company who intends to control the TLD, not the TLD itself.
