Another page directs me to use the boot camp assistant, but it requires that I have a thumb drive (ready to be reformatted), and I must reboot into MacOS I'm not going to do that. In anticipation to some responses, we can argue about it if you want but it'll be a waste of energy.

Meanwhile, bootcamp needs you to reformat a thumb drive. Reformatting is a big deal. If something goes wrong, the user can lose ALL of their data. The instructions even go into troubleshooting for reformatting a drive, which is really digging in to helping a user complete a dangerous operation.

I understand your concern about Bootcamp drivers. If you download install the wrong versions of stuff, that will nowhere going to help you. If you don't know which driver you need to install, it's better to take help of a good driver updater tool such as FixBit

It looks like I'm going to have to find some hack to get the new drivers to install, or risk uninstalling everything I currently have for boot camp so I can get the installer to install, and cross my fingers that I can run my system in-between boot camp installations.

source: -encounter.net/p824/bootcamp-drivers-direct-download-of-bootcampesd-pkg . The page was aimed at people struggling with BootCamp, but either way, it gets you to the BootCamp.pkg file, which contains the drivers.

You still need open the OS X installer pkg file to get the the contents out, and to open a DMG file. If you are already in Windows, 7-zip will open it: -encounter.net/p860/opening-a-bootcamp-driver-download-on-windows-7-or-8-with-7-zip

This 'Apple DL1443: Boot Camp Software Update 3.3 for Windows' is definitely the required Update. I have a 2010 Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard (10.6.8) installed and couldn't get the right Boot Camp upgrade using any of the Apple download software from within the bootcamp Application. After installing this Update/Upgrade suddenly all of the required drivers appeared in the Windows 'Device manager' and everything started working perfectly

I have an old Macbook Air (2013 or 14, I think) that I've installed Windows 10 on, wiping OS X and Bootcamp completely. What is the best way to get the Apple drivers for speakers, keyboard etc? Can I re-install Bootcamp without also installing OS X in this situation?

Greetings. I am in the process of trying to get windows 7 onto my MacBPro, running 10.9.4. I have purchased Windows 7, downloaded it & have an .iso file.
I followed the instructions in bootcamp(gotten all proper windows updates) and utilized your bit of code to get bootcamp to create a bootable disc from the iso file and put it on a USB, which it does successfully. When I proceed to partition my drive through bootcamp, it stops me & says there is no bootable disc detected, pls install disc.
Through my research I have also installed rEFIt and using disk utility partitioned my drive and bypass bootcamp. When I start my mac, I get the rEFIt option to install windows from my USB, but in doing so it cannot find the BOOTMGR file.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Ira

I have Installed WIndows 8.1 using your method..But when i install Bootcamp Drivers..It installs them for a while and then screen goes black (when it is installing graphic drivers) and nothing happens eventually i have to restart my mac and then after the windows logo again that black screen appears..!
Any Suggestions ?

Hi. I already downloaded windows 8.1 (64-bit). And was in the process of making a bootable usb with the boot camp assistant but it prompts me with this message: Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use a ISO file for 64-bit Windows installation. I have a Macbook Air 10.9.2-early 2014. Please help. thanks

Hi Eric,
Yes it is free and you should be able to get all the boot camp drivers here.

Also the last part of this video should give you some idea how to install them.
How to remove a bootcamp partition and install Windows support software from Apple.

Got it to work, but one problem! On my PC when I went to this website and clicked create media installation, I chose ISO file and saved that ISO to my flashdrive, which I then plugged into my iMac so I could use that ISO in Bootcamp. Everything installed except the bootcamp drivers never came up during the installation so I cant connect to the internet while in windows 8.1. Was I not supposed to create an ISO file?

Hi, i want to ask
My Mac is 21.5 inch Mid 2010 and the Bootcamp drivers in your site is Windows 7, but i want to install Windows 8.1. Is it possible to install Windows 8.1 if my drivers is Windows 7 ?
thx

HI Bladimir Hernandez
Basically no. You need to make sure you select the correct size when you create the Windows partition first up. There is some 3rd party tools that may do this. However this is not something that I will help people with.
If you want to resize the partition properly I suggest removing the boot camp partition and reinstalling the Windows all over again.

Make sure you do a back up of your Windows data before you try this.

I have a couple of questions. If I back up my data with an external hard drive, can I use only one external hard drive for both Yosemite and Windows 8?
And if I decide to remove the boot camp partition and reinstall it, will I be allowed to use the same product key for windows 8 as I did the first time?

Hey, I have a mid 2015 MacBook Pro and I have Windows 8.1 downloaded onto it through bootcamp assist. I tried downloading the driver BootCamp5.1.5640 and it says that this driver doesnt work for this computer model. I was able to go in and manually add some and some worked (like the volume, bluetooth, etc), but the wifi DOES NOT work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi i have an early 2015 macbook pro. i am trying to install windows 10 iso via boot camp. i launch the boot camp amp, and can not get past the copying windows files screen. when it fails i get the message your bootable usb drive could not be created an error occurred while copying the windows installation files.

Thank you for the Bootcamp Assistant! I bought an Apple iMac from 2010 but Apple only gives the bootcamp assistant for Windows 7 and not for Windows 10.
The W7 Bootcamp drivers do not work with W10.

I had this same issue, also on a pc, also trying to get driver support for a mac keyboard. I couldn't use the Command Prompt suggestion b/c apparently there was no .msi file (I also used 7-zip to look into the .exe for an .msi to no avail) - I assume it was a botched install because this isn't a mac. I couldn't use the default Windows add/uninstall programs tool, nor the one linked in other support articles (Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall tool). I tried reinstalling bootcamp hoping to use an uninstall/repair option, but couldn't because .. this isn't a mac - it said the install wasn't compatible with my machine. I have no idea how I managed to get a partial install in the first place, but I assume that's partly why there was no .msi file. I couldn't remove the program because it was running, I couldn't shut it down, and I didn't have any of the standard uninstall options available.

What worked for me was simple, in the end: I opened task manager (ctrl+alt+del) and went to the start up tab. I disabled bootcamp from start up. Which then meant that after restarting my machine, I could go into C:\Program Files\ and delete the boot camp folder (which I couldn't do previously because it was launching at startup). No more boot camp.

The simplest way I found was to run the install package of the original driver version using msiexec /i bootcamp.msi in the command prompt window (as Admin). This repaired anything broken from other removal attempts.

Worked for me as well, I recently got a new keyboard to replace my ever faithful and well-loved magic keyboard and found I won't be needing the bootcamp drivers anymore. Discovered that I couldn't remove the program from windows settings, I've also mistakenly deleted the Bootcamp drivers folder. So I proceeded to download them, then I proceeded to unisntall bootcamp using msiexec /x bootcamp.msi in command promt(admin) in the bootcamp drivers folder and it proceded to uninstall without a hitch. Bootcamp's gone and I have access to my F keys again.

Once the drivers are installed, click Finish and reboot into Windows again. You may need to configure wireless input devices, display resolution and other settings. You will also need to re-activate your Windows license.

The apple bootcamp drivers have had over a year without an update, and games are starting to notice. The new Call of Duty games don't let me play them because my drivers are "out of date", and other games like Halo Infinite are starting to notice as well. A year ago, halo infinite worked perfectly. Now it says my drivers are out of date. It's been over a year! The last update to these drivers, and the version I have was released 2021-11-11. From what I've seen online, drivers get updates every 3 months! This computer came out in 2019, and I don't feel comfortable knowing that barely two years after buying it fresh from the store, the AMD graphics drivers would be dropped.

I have an iMac retina 5K 2017 with Radeon Pro 580 running Windows 10 with Bootcamp and when I start the game it's telling me I need version 19.50.29 of my graphics card driver. I went to the AMD website and found their Apple bootcamp drivers, but according to that I have the latest version already (19.30.1). The only systems that support the 19.50 version of the driver is iMac retina 5K 2020. Do I really need to have an iMac from 2020 to play this game?
