Considering the difference in speed between Bolt and the average human, it would be even more remarkable to imagine the fastest cheetah ever within this video to further emphasise the gap in speed differential between the two species.
In the video, a virtual cheetah is placed between Bolt and Doc Patton. What happens when the gun goes off is predictable. The cheetah zooms past the field, including Bolt, and crosses the finish in 5.95, obliterating the world record.
A new video released by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency shows the robot, inspired by the anatomy of a cheetah, running as fast as 28.3 mph before it trips and falls on what would be its face, if it had one.
DARPA said it will be testing out a prototype of the robotic cheetah on natural terrain sometime next year. It is unlikely that the robot will be able to maintain its indoor speeds when it has rocks and roots and ditches to contend with.

Preparations are underway at full steam in Gwalior, and the Kunno National Park in Seopur for the arrival of Cheetahs in what is one of the world's biggest wildlife translocation projects. Eight cheetahs will be flown from the Savannas in Nambia to the National Park, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will introduce them to the Indian wildlife.
A special customised B747 Jumbo Jet will ferry Big Cat to Gwalior from where Chinook helicopters of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will lift them and bring them to their new home at the Kunno National Park. The eight cheetahs include five females and three males. While the females are aged between two and five years, the male cheetahs are 4.5 years and 5.5 years.

The natural habitat of the cheetah is found in North Africa, the Sahel, and eastern and southern Africa. The animal can survive in a range of habitats but prosper the most in open grasslands. In Namibia, these animals have been found to be living in savannahs, dense vegetation, and mountainous terrain.

The closest rival of cheetahs when it comes to speed is the Jaguar, which can accelerate at a pace of 80 kilometers per hour. While Cheetahs are found in the African Savannah, jaguars mostly inhabit tropical low-lying habitats close to lakes, rivers, and inland wetlands. Jaguars can be found from the southwestern USA to the scrub grasslands of Argentina.
Besides their physical attributes, cheetahs have several adaptations that make them the ultimate speed machines. For example, their unique respiratory system allows them to take in more oxygen while running. They also have larger hearts and lungs than other big cats, which allows them to pump more oxygenated blood to their muscles.
Sadly, cheetahs face many challenges in the wild. Habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict all threaten their survival. With fewer than 7,000 individuals left in the wild, the cheetah is officially considered a vulnerable species by the IUCN.
Usain Bolt and the cheetah are two of the most impressive speedsters on the planet. But while they have both mastered the art of speed, their methods of achieving it are quite different. Bolt relies on his explosive power and ability to accelerate quickly, breaking records with his lightning-fast sprints.

If faced to defend itself or its kill, a cheetah would utilize the flight defense instead of fighting. This is one of the many factors challenging female cheetahs, who raise their cubs on their own. Only 10% of cheetah cubs raised in the Serengeti survive to maturity due to the dense population of predators.
Like other wildlife, cheetahs are facing obstacles such as habitat loss and human conflict. Conservation organizations like African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) are working with communities to minimize the human-wildlife conflict.
