5th Annual Virtual Workshop!

Hi all,

It’s time to schedule our annual meeting/workshop! Usually we run the workshop during the first week of September but classes start early this year so I'm proposing the last week of August.

If you are interested in presenting or leading a short discussion, please let me know and I will try to come up with a coherent agenda. Also please fill out the linked scheduling poll so we can figure out some possible dates and times.

Some suggested topics:

– demos or reports of recent projects/performances using the mapping tools

– updates to libmapper, webmapper, etc.

– language bindings

– session management

– bridges/integration with other software (e.g. game engines)

– hardware platforms (e.g. ESP32, RPi, Arduino, Bela)

– testing, distribution, package managers
– proposals for extensions or new features

I’m also still planning to create a “showreel” of recent projects using the mapping tools, so if you have some video you would like to include please share it with me!

Hi all,

Our annual mapping tools workshop will take place on Thursday, August 29 starting at 2PM Halifax time (ADT: UTC−03:00). The plan is to hold the meeting on Jitsi Meet at the link below.

The workshop is open to everyone who is curious about mapping tools, whether or not you are familiar with the libmapper ecosystem or involved with its development. Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think would be interested.

If you would like to reserve some time to present a project or discuss a specific topic, please let me know ahead of time so I can prepare the agenda. So far we are scheduled to discuss the following topics:

– updates on technical developments in the core libmapper tools

– a presentation on the new C# and Unity bindings

– a presentation on the new Rust bindings

– a presentation on the new browser-side javascript bindings and associated bridge daemon

– a presentation on the “Maplet” libmapper-to-Eurorack control voltage device
