Summary mode:
- Going up Muir pass was easy, the snow was hard.
- Muir hut (at the top of the pass) was interesting, it's a stone structure with a family of Marmots guarding it. Gotta watch your pack while around the hut.
- going down Muir was hell. Five miles of postholing, falling, slipping and sliding. The snow was too soft my afternoon.
- It took nearly six exhausting hours to get through the snow.
- Below the snow is evolution basin, an awesome place which I wished we could have enjoyed longer.
- Because we were unable to do the miles today and previous days we are running out of food, rationing and hording has begun, this is going to suck.
