I just recently bought this new laptop for my son. I was able to from the website for epic game launcher install the app. After it completed the install, it will not open. I dont know why this does not work. Can anyone help with what needs to be done?
You don't need wine :). Just run heroic and download the game you like. After the game is downloaded open crossover (set a bottle for the game first) and in the game's bottle choose the option execute command. Browse inside the game's directory and find the game exe. The developer will soon add crossover as a third option to automatically run games inside heroic, for now you have to do it manually as I explained. Let me know if you can play your epic games library now
I have those game to on my library. Will try it and tinker it soon and I hope I will get some result like how I run mostly my games on steam, blizzard and epic. Most games that I can't play is because of EAC like The Division 2. But still I don't want go back to W10 just because of some few games.
The most important question first: can you play Epic Games titles using the launcher on Linux? Yes and no. Since Epic Games hasn't released a client for Linux yet, you won't be able to play games after installing the official Epic Games client on your desktop.
