News from Strategic Partners
Funding
for rural communities at risk. The Action for Communities in Rural England (ACRE) Network of Rural Community Councils (RCCs), of which Dorset Community Action is
a member, is the only nationwide organisation with a dedicated rural community focus, strengthening local communities, enterprises, and supporting the most vulnerable in our society. As of 19 January 2015, ACRE has been advised to expect no further funding
from the Department for Environment, farming and rural affairs (Defra). If funding is withdrawn, DCA’s will be severely hampered in its ability to deliver services specifically tailored to rural communities. To find out more about the support DCA provides
to rural communities and sign our petition visit
