Building Better Opportunities: Maximising the economic potential of Dorset’s diverse communities

Are you a Dorset based organisation that helps people back into training or work?

Do you support socially excluded groups? Would you like to know how Dorset’s new £10 million EU/BIG Lottery Fund programme will work?

If so, please book onto one of these free workshops:

* 09.30 – 12.30, Friday 30th January, Friends Meeting House, Wharncliffe Road, Boscombe BH5 1AH Book for Boscombe HERE <http://www.dorsetcommunityaction.org.uk/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=54675&qid=941094>

During 2015, significant European Union funding will become available to boost economic development in Dorset. Some of this is earmarked for tackling barriers to economic inclusion. We know that some people in Dorset face barriers to getting jobs, such as childcare, health conditions, disabilities, or cannot get the type of work they aspire to.

The new £10 million EU/BIG Lottery funded Building Better Opportunities programme for Dorset will:

* Improve people’s life chances by funding projects that reflect local priorities and community needs;
* Be based on evidence about what works best, and be delivered by capable providers;
* Provide personalised help to people furthest from the labour market to develop their skills and talents, and overcome challenges.

These workshops will:

* Help you to understand the requirements of this new EU and BIG Lottery Fund programme;
* Introduce our five themes: Mental health, Young People, Rural isolation, Long term unemployed, Social Enterprise;
* Introduce partnership requirements and opportunities for smaller organisations;
* Enable you to assess whether the programme would be right for your organisation;
* Help start the process of designing the criteria the BIG Lottery Fund will use to award grants.

Workshops are free, though we ask you to book as places will be limited.

All three workshops are the same so choose the one most convenient for you to attend.

If you would like more information about the workshops or the Building Better Opportunities programme please contact:
