Hello all,

I have an ocean of magnetic media containing audio to digitize. I have the equipment to do that for 1/4 inch audio and audio cassette, as well as some video formats.

I just bought a small tape head demagnetizer which runs on 120VAC 60Hz, presumably.

It is drawing 30mA. In the past these vibrated, this one does not.

So I would like to measure using a coil probe if it is producing a field.

A little research suggests it should be producing between 500-1000 Gauss. I know I can look up making a coil to sense the probe part which is about 3/8" wide. A number of turns dropped across a resistance measuring the voltage should do that.

Does anyone have a small coil probe with that ~1000 Gauss design point I can borrow, a source for them, or have you undertaken a similar problem?

This is what I'm trying to measure:

This is also a good product:

Best and thanks in advance
