I'm looking to have a bunch of foam core laser cut into puzzle type pieces. can anyone recommend a LOCAL source to have this done?

My friend Sarah runs a laser cutting business in SE. She mostly does paper but I'm sure she'd be happy to talk to you about it:

Mike at surplus gizmos does it as a side business. He can do up to 3'x4'. You can email him at sa...@surplusgizmos.com.

Foam core does not laser cut so great. The foam melts back into the center creating a concave space. If you need clean edges you light look for someone with a big mat cutter.

Foam core or just foam? Foam core has paper on both side that does mix so well with water.

Eric-

Landsberg is Wilsonville may have what you're looking for.  I have worked with these guys to cut foam before for tool boxes. They use one of these machines: http://eastmancuts.myw2m.com/

I would say as long as you have a CAD or 2D drawing of the cuts, they should be able to do it for you.

I've attached a business card of the guy I worked with, Cory.

Thanks,
Jen
