iphone camera adapter?

hi all,
Does anybody here have an Apple iphone camera adapter i could borrow? AKA a lightning port camera adapter, AKA a Lightning-to-usb adapter? Its a little white dongle, lightning on one end, usb (host i think?) on the other.
i believe that with one of those i can connect a midi device to my ipad and make special noises. I'd gladly buy one, but its spendy & i'm not 100% certain it'll work so id first like to find one i can borrow to test with.
