Hi,

I'm trying to revive a Tandy Color Computer model 3 and I'm looking for a 6809E processor chip (40-pin DIP). Anybody have one or know where I can find one?

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Have you debugged it down to the 6809E and are you sure everything else os working correctly?

The reason I ask that, is that I collect many of those classic 8-bit computers and I know that I have several TRS CoCos in my collection, but friends have shared with me that the main issue I will run into with firing up my old computers is that the elecrolytic capacitors do not age well and they will ALL need replacing!

Did you know that and have you done that before determining the issue is with the 6809E?

Hi Manny,

I know for sure that the 6809E is the problem.. because it's not there.. just an empty socket :)

I have a bunch of them (EP).   I have a handful of genuine and probably 12 remarks I got from UTSource (will no longer buy from them) which pass testing.   The remarks are easy to spot by the fake date-codes.

You may also be able to use a 6309E.
