The article contained no other details about the project. The latest news regarding a Galaxy Quest series was one in development at Amazon which would bring back members of the original cast. A number of writers had been attached to that project, including Paul Scheer who in 2018 told The Wrap it had been put on hold. According to Scheer, his version would have the original cast interacting with the new cast, a storyline he said was inspired by the 2009 movie Star Trek featuring a new cast.
Pegg co-wrote Star Trek Beyond, and when some fans pointed out that the film was mediocre at best, Pegg went ballistic on them. His arrogant self-absorbed ego is similar to that of a certain writer/ producer who pops in here from time to time. Both men show signs of being vindictive insecure little pr***s.
Ikr its a fun theory especially with GQ there seemingly righting the rest but really the odd/even urban legend should never have taken off after III was obviously a great Trek film (and was deemed so at the time, President Reagans opinion notwishstanding)
I am older than you and in that longer life I have only run across one admitted comedy bully writer, Robert Smigel, who freely admits he wrote his GET A LIFE skit for SNL with the premise that you would wrongly assign to GQ.
Currently the most popular fangame, The Rake Noob Edition was created by NoobMatthew3 as a meme game. It used a custom-made noob model for the rake and replaced the screams with oofs. Unfortunately, TRNE was shutdown in the 2020 Rake copyright purge, 1 year after its creation.
Fortunately, a new remake of TRNE resurfaced in December of 2020 as a joint effort between CloruMind and NoobMatthew3. This version is the current TRNE game and still is frequently updated, containing game mechanics that even the main game doesn't currently have.
Rake ZRK is a unique rake fangame created by zavaled in 2022 that features a more realistic atmosphere and map, a custom rake model, and many new mechanics not seen in rake games prior, including item looting and chests. It has unique items and many perks that make it an interesting addition to Rake fangames.
Bully some monater lol, or BSML, was created by zavaled in early 2020 and quickly became popular. Instead of the typical Survive the Night game, it was based off of killing The Rake with different weapons players could buy to bully The Rake. The map is nothing more than a baseplate and some models but it still gained over 1M visits.
In October 2020, the game was taken down in the Rake copyright purge. Afterwards, the game was rebranded from bully mr rake (its OG name) to bully some monater lol and was rereleased with a custom model.
The Rake: Fan Made Edition is currently one of the most popular fangames on Roblox, however it is generally unoriginal and essentially just a rake game clone. It doesn't feature anything new (other than a plethora of repetitive hours) and is generally low-effort and of questionable quality. It has some interesting gameplay at times but is less fun than all of the fangames mentioned previously.
The Rake Kill games exploded after the massive popularity of bully mr rake and it's eventual content deletion. The first popular one, The Rake Kill Test by MediumSmacks, started the genre but after being taken down due to viruses several times many other games were created, in which players could fight practically any Rake model from any game imagineable. The most popular one currently is The Rake Kill SImulator which features a classic Rake model but games have been made with the Remastered, Noob, April Fools, and many other Rake models.
Rake morph games have had a long history on Roblox. The first popular one, You Rake vs The Rake, was a barebones game where players could fight the Rake in half-working player morphs. The first fangame was created by MediumSmacks was much more developed with actual player rake models as well as a working shop. Unfortunately it was taken down in the 2020 Rake copyright purge. However, since then multiple clones of the game have appeared with the most popular one currently being You Rake vs. The Rake REMAKE.
A spinoff of the You Rake vs. The Rake genre that began after the remaster of the main game, these games involve becoming the rake and killing NPCs dressed as survivors (instead of fighting the Rake). The original one was Become The Remastered Rake: Original, but it now has two more popular clones of its own by the same name, those being Become the Remastered Rake and Become the Rake Remastered.
The Rake 2017 was created on 1/15/2021 by CHR_2108 as an almost-perfect replica of RVVZ's Rake game from September 2017. The game originally opened in a different place, but later was moved to the group, and then once again moved to a different place.
The game was also known as The Rake Archives until the Audio Update in 2022 when Roblox killed most of the audio in the game, forcing the developers to confine the game to just V10. The game has opened and closed frequently before finally being reopened again at a different place due to The Rake Unusual taking its place.
