Is Ios 53 v 5406 installed?

Hello and first of all thanks for your great app. I'm not sure if this
is the right forum for this question, I apologize if it is not the
one.

I 'm trying to launch original New Super Mario Bros Wii but it keeps
refusing to start without upgrading my wii, which seems a bad idea to
me since I have a "first day" wii and happy with 3.4 System Menu.
Dop-Mii tells me that IOS 53 is at version 5406, which I found is the
one needed to launch the game; I tried both patched and unpatched
versions but I can' t get rid of that annoying prompt to update.
Is there anything I could do or should I use a backup (such a pity as
I have the original...)?

Any help is much appreciated,

How are you loading SMB? Are you loading it via USB Loader or you
trying to launch it from disc?

I'm loading it through the original disc. When talking about "patched
and unpatched" I meant IOS53 I tried both with all the patches Dop-Mii
proposes and with no patch at all but the result is the same.

It shouldn't matter if it's patched or unpatched. All I know is that
the latest IOS53 has to be installed for it to run per
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS_History

If you are playing from a burned disc I think the game has to be
patched to make it work. If you have an original version it should
just work.

Also you may want to use priiloader and turn on the "Disable Disc
Update" hack. this should also prevent your Wii from trying to update.

Thanks Lunatik for your advice on Priiloader; it worked like a charm
once I used Dop-Mii to downgrade to Sys menu 3.2E (so now I have a
"first day" wii and also the best sysmenu ever for homebrew!).

I also thought that the combo latest IOS53 + original version would
have worked without any issue but for some reason it is not my case;
maybe it didn't work out for the same reason Priiloader doesn't work
on 3.4...

Thanks again and keep up the good work, Dop-Mii is really getting
better from version to version.
