Hi.

I want a simple way to install wad files for my wii. It seems Dop Mii
has the ability to install wad files but I have a few questions. I am
currently on 4.2e PAL Wii.

In the guides I've read for Dop Mii it says that it uses the modified
IOS36 (with Trucha bug) to install .wad files as channels. It seems
that every other method I have read about to install .wad files as
channels involves the use of cIOS249.

My question is if I want to install .wad files as channels using Dop
Mii, do I also need to install cIOS249?

Another question is about the stub IOS's. If I solely want to use Dop
Mii as a means to install .wad files do I actual need to remove the
stub IOS's?

My aim is to be able to install wad files with the absolute minimum
modification to my wii and it's IOS's.

Any help with regards to these questions would be most appreciated.

IOS and Channels are 2 different things and in now way is an IOS
installed as a channel. However you can install supported channels via
WAD if needed.

Just drop the WAD files into your device:/wads folder, where device is
SD or USB. When you run the installer it will ask you where you want
to install it from, just select your device and go. During the process
if there are patches available it will ask you if you want to apply
the patch. It is up to you if you want to do it or not.

As far as the stubs go you only need to remove them if you are trying
to install an IOS into a slot that has a stub IOS installed. Otherwise
it doesn't help nor hurt anything just leaving them in place.

Cheers for the reply.

I thought that I could install .wad files using Dopp Mii as described
in this guide http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/how-to-use/dop-ios

I know channels and IOS's are different but isn't a modified IOS with
a Trucha bug used to install a channel when using a wad file. My
question was to install a .wad using Dop Mii do I need another
modified IOS other than IOS36?

Also what did you mean by "supported channels"?

My aim is to be able to use Dop Mii to install VC wad files. I'm just
wondering what the simplest way to install the wad file is using Dop
Mii
