My name is Fred, I am a vantillian apologist currently working on applying vantillian presuppositionalism to the refutation of American cultism and Eastern religions. In doing this I have found that my approach is less Vantillian, as vantillianism tends to be rather negative. And has developed into a more philosophical and (what I hope) comprehensive approach to dealing with false systems. One of my philosophy professors suggested I look into the works and philosophy of Dooyeweerd. I am looking for a consistent reformed philosophy. Hoping to gain some insight from Dooyeweerd’s work and some of the folks in this group.

Dear Fred,

I wonder if you've had any responses from people on this group yet.  The group has been very quiet for as long as I've been on it - probably because there are other groups where more active discussion is going on concerning Dooyeweerd's philosophy.

Have you read any introductions to Dooyeweerd's philosophy?  To get started, it would be worth reading a book such as:
- Ouweneel: Wisdom for Thinkers (short and systematic)
- Bartholomew & Goheen: Christian Philosophy: A Systematic and Narrative Introduction (written for students)
- Clouser: The Myth of Religious Neutrality (my favourite)

If you're beyond this stage, try asking a specific question relating to your work, and if no-one on this list answers, I may be able to introduce you to a more active forum.

All the best,

Richard.

I would love to get into a more active discussion group. Clouser is on my list to buy next. I just need to finish up a critique I am working on for Durand's book Judicial Warfare. Once this piece is done I plan on doing an in-depth study of Dooyeweerdian philosophy.

Thank you for the response.
