We have been with MDaemon for 14 years. It has proven to be a stable and reliable platform. The content filters are very flexible. I have an email server that stops most junk and malicious emails from reaching my users. The Instant Messaging is an integral part of our internal communications. It has Calendaring, Tasks, Notes, all configurable. It's a very affordable alternative to more expensive systems."

"MDaemon gives us visibility into our email usage and control over the service we present to our users. Designed to be customizable, MDaemon presents us with the flexibility we need to make email work the way we need it to. The logs are comprehensive and make diagnosing email problems in a reasonable time possible."

Very easy to customize to fit our requirements. Most other email security software is a one size fits all type of product. Unfortunately, every company has different requirements, Security Gateway makes an extremely flexible package. That is easy to use and set up.

When the message delay for recall has been configured, messages are placed in a dedicated Deferred queue rather than going directly to the Inbound mail queue. Messages in the Deferred queue have the date they are set to leave the queue encoded into the file name. MDaemon checks the queue once per minute and when it's time for a message to leave the queue it is moved to the Inbound queue and subject to normal message processing and delivery. Activity is logged to the Routing tab and log file.

You can set the delay time to "0" if you wish, but this increases the possibility that a message a user wishes to recall may have already been delivered. Therefore a delay of at least 1 or 2 minutes is recommended to give your users time to realize they want to recall a message, send the recall request, and have time left over for MDaemon to process the request. However, because MDaemon is able to remove recalled messages from the Remote queue(s), where there might already be a delay, some administrators may find this deferred delivery timer unnecessary.

Note: This feature is available in MDaemon Email versions 16.0.0 and above and will archive incoming/outgoing mail to a specific directory and no longer archive mail to public folders unless configured to do so. MDaemon Email versions 15.5 and below cannot archive to any folder outside of the public folder directory.

MDaemon Antivirus (formerly MDaemon SecurityPlus) provides an additional layer of email security to the MDaemon Email Server with a variety of anti-spam, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-phishing, and anti-malware features for email security.

MDaemon Connector for Outlook provides groupware and collaboration functionality by connecting email, calendar with free/busy scheduling, address book, distribution lists, tasks, and notes in the Outlook email client.

ActiveSync provides native synchronization of a user's default and shared email, calendar, contacts, and tasks data between the MDaemon Email Server, MDaemon Webmail, Outlook (using MDaemon Connector for Outlook), and an ActiveSync capable device.

The displayed pricing applies to a stand-alone (on premises) server deployed for an organization andis not intended for commercial use in a hosted environment, as expressed in theEnd User License Agreement (EULA). What happens once a purchase is made?

You will receive an order confirmation via email, usually within a few minutes after placing anon-line order. If you purchased a product that requires a software registration (license) key, thefollowing will occur:

MDaemon's user-friendly flat-file structure makes it easy to backup and recover your email messages, user accounts, security settings, and any other data stored in MDaemon. No extra Windows components or third-party applications are required, and you won't have to navigate through any confusing dialog boxes to backup & recover your data. Backing up and restoring MDaemon is as easy as drag & drop. All you would need to do is map a drive letter from the MDaemon server to another drive on your network, then drag over the files you want to back up.

And if email messages were deleted, they can easily be restored as well. Email messages are stored within the Users directory under the specific domain and user. Simply drag the .msg files from the backup to the User's folder on the MDaemon server.

my concern is to restrict the specific user to send emails on all other domains except my own domain internally which is suppose abcd.com, i mean i want to restrict a specific user to send and receive emails only from and to ancd.com but not on all other domains,

if i am getting your point right then i think isnt it a lengthy way to do so because sometimes we dont know about the users whom they are sending mails and receiving from, so it will be a long practice as i think.

When you login to my Mdaemon webmail through a browser you can see a list of emails, but when you click on a email you don't see the body, it's blank. You also can send e-mail but you can't receive it. How can I trouble shoot this problem, or what is the problem.

Found out that MDaemon was somehow corrupted. I tried to just do a repair, but it didn't work. I backed up all the mail boxes and then uninstalled it, and then reinstalled it, and that fixed all the problems.

For the issue of not seeing the email in your browser, does this happen on all browsers? Do you have any third-party antivirus software on the machine? Does the issue persist if you temporarily disable it for troubleshooting purposes? What version of MDaemon are you running?

For the issue of not being able to receive emails, if you have someone send you a test message, examine your MDaemon-SMTP(in).log file. Do you see the connection coming in? If not, then I'd start with your firewall configuration.

This implementation guide covers the specifics of archiving MDaemon Email Server mailboxes. It is assumed that you already have a MailStore Server installation or test installation and are familiar with the fundamentals of MailStore Server. Please refer to the Manual or the Quick Start Guide for more information.

MailStore Server offers several ways to archive emails from MDaemon Email Server mailboxes, which are described below. If you are not sure which archiving method best suits your company, please refer to the chapter Choosing the Right Archiving Strategy.

In addition to the internal user databases, MDaemon may also use SQL databases or LDAP directory services such as Active Directory or OpenLDAP to manage and authenticate users. It is recommended to set up directory service synchronization in MailStore as well. Additional information on synchronizing users can be found in the corresponding chapters of the MailStore Server manual:

In MailStore Server MDaemon archiving tasks are stored in archiving profiles. By following the procedure described here you can archive a single MDaemon mailbox for a specific MailStore user. The archiving process can be executed manually or automatically. You can find further information about executing archiving profiles in chapter Email Archiving with MailStore Basics.

The MDaemon Email Server offers an easy way to deliver all emails to an MDaemon specific multidrop mailbox. MailStore Server archives this mailbox by means of an archiving task of type Archiving IMAP and POP3 Multidrop Mailboxes.

With MailStore's default settings, the archiving profiles Single Mailbox and Multiple Mailboxes will archive public folders into the user's own archive. If that behavior is not desired, Public Folders can be excluded from being archived by the regular archiving profiles of the users' mailboxes and instead archived into a separate archive, for the costs of one additional user license. The following describes how this can be accomplished.

I'm using MDaemon 12 mailserver, Does anyone know how to make it block these attachments? I've been working on some content scanning for filetype code, but was wondering if there is a already made solution?

If anyone else has same problem look at my filter on SourceForge ( ) and download MDSpamP.zip. Simply compile and put MDSpamP.dll as a plugin SpamFilter. You can customize it using the Python md_spam_filter.py file.

I am wishing to start a new thread in the hope of solving a mail account set up failure. I have tried unsuccessfully multiple time to set up Mail ( Mac) to retrieve my world client email Madaemon email account. I can retrieve it via its web based log in and it works perfect the way I set it up with my iPad mail setup, but it wont work with may mail on the Mac Pro. It fails to connect to the server or times out. Extra note, I had it set up and running well. But the account via mail started to play up so i deleted the account and the issue started when I went to re in state it.

The information I was putting in was correct. What we have dissoverd is that the set up prompt wizard that Mail uses when you click the + add account button - The host email server /client / thingy did not like it and timed me out or rejected it was to slow or a better techy explanation might be out there.

The work around was because I am on Leopard ( apparently mail on snow leopard you cant do this the guys was saying ) there is a manual set up by going to preferences holding down option key and ????? key ( something I will get back to you I just forgot ) (But It worked) I manually set up my mail and forced it to work. I am after a few weeks, back up and running - BPJ

Are there any Linux desktop email clients that work with the MDaemon email server's implementation of Activesync (EAS)? I'm desperately trying to wean myself off of Windows desktops but this is yet another obstacle.
