Mary Pat Carlson will be teaching canning/food preservation at NWTC in
Sturgeon Bay on September 8 & 15. These are each 3-hour classes. The
same information will be covered on each class, so you only need to
take one.

She'll help you can tomatoes, applesauce and pickles...and will show
you the steps to can meat and other low-acid foods.

Mary Pat is a true expert in the field -- she owns Algoma
Farm Market Kitchen, and cans professionally.

Call NWTC right away and sign up before the classes are full!!!!

Anyone know of anyone else who might teach canning? I'm not available
either of those days, but was just telling a friend this evening that
I need to learn how to can.

If you can't make the class, Mary Pat suggested reading the Ball
Canning Guide. It tells step-by-step how to can with hot-water bath
and pressure canner. I learned how to can by reading it, too.
