This is probably old news for anyone who already visits this forum,
but if you haven't yet read "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbard
Kingsolver, read it now. It's not an exaggeration to say that it
forever changed the way I view the food I eat...and led me to the 100-
mile food challenge. I'm a relative newcomer to sustainable eating
(read: I have a lot of "before" food to use up), but my new freezer is
on order, my dehydrator came last week, and my fingers are pink from
putting up strawberries! I'm looking forward to the shared wisdom of
the group.

I have heard of this book, but not yet read it. Barbara Kingsolver is
a tremendous author, I've read her book, The Poison Wood Bible, about
the difficulties of missionaries who go to Africa and end up finding
that the natives have so much more to offer them than vis versa.

How have you been faring with your diet? Hope you continue using this
spot to report in!

Dave
