Hi friends,

Rich is a friend of a friend who is looking for info on attending Burning Man for his first time. I gave him some advice but I thought some peeps here would be happy to reach out to him to chat or maybe you have friends whose camps might be a good place for him. He's not sure yet if he's going to camp solo in the suburbs or join a camp.

I think he'd really appreciate talking to the international domies esp.

(I shared our packing list with him already :).)

If you are up for talking with him or know someone he should chat with, can you write me back and I'll connect you two via email? Or just write him directly.

Thank you so much!

J

Hello!

My name is Rich and I'm attending Burning Man for the first time this year. I'm from London, England and will be flying out to San Francisco five days before the festival. I'm looking for 2014 Burners who need an extra person in their camp, and who might have an extra seat in their car.

I'm coming to Burning Man as part of a research project on communal living and alternative economies. I've visited communes in Europe and the UK so far, and am interested in launching a month-long festival commune project in Europe next year (but the details are still very hazy!)

I've worked at many festivals in the UK before, I know how to cook and and I know how to clean. I've worked as a food trader, as a litter picker, as a wristband distributor and performed as an artist. I know that festivals work best when people work as a team, and I really want to embrace this philosophy at Burning Man.

I'm aware that there are a lot of logistics to organise before departing for the festival, and I'm aware I might not be around in the months preceding - but I'm also aware that I throw myself into everything with love, joy and passion and will work and play hard in equal measure.

For me going to Burning Man is about more than just getting drunk in a desert, I want to see how the whole thing fits together (but I admit my research will mainly be through dancing).

Any advice, help or support would be much appreciated, and if you - or someone you know - has a camp and is looking for team-mates ... I'm you man.

Much love,

Rich
