This problem is no longer an issue with the latest version of the
game. You can download the newest version from the files section of
this group. The file name is Doom.for.Android.1.33.666.apk.

Not all at once, even after cleanup, same thing happens...

I'm having trouble where the game is asking for a WAD. I have my IWAD
(doom.wad) in \sdcard\doom\ yet I still get prompted to install a WAD.
If I follow through and try downloading FreeDoom (in an effort to get
it to work at all, not just with Doom.wad), I get a
java.io.IOException pointing to the file it's looking for. I believe I
have all the files I need, where can I place them on my SD card so the
game won't prompt me to download them?

First, make sure there is a folder named "doom" in the root of your SD
card. If you have a folder named "sdcard" then this may be the
problem. See if this is the case and let me know if you are able to
get things going.

Hi L!TH!UM,

I have my doom folder in the root of my SD card as you describe. I've
placed the IWAD (doom.wad) in there, but it doesn't show up in the
dropdown menu when I start up Doom for Android. It only shows
freedoom.wad, which doesn't download / work either.

Try installing the newest release of PrBoom 4 Android @
http://prboom4android.googlecode.com/files/PrBoom4Android.apk

I've made a few bug fixes and I believe the issue you are having has
been addressed in this latest release. Doom For Android is no longer
active so make sure you are now using PrBoom 4 Android instead.

Well I've gotten freedoom.wad to work with the newest releas - thanks!
Only problem is, I still can't get doom.wad to show up in the "Choose
WAD to play" field, even though doom.wad is in the same directory as
freedoom.wad (\Doom\ on my SD card). However, I renamed my doom.wad
"freedoom.wad" and I can play the original game just fine that way :-D

Thanks for all your hard work so far L!TH!UM!

I'm not quite sure what's going on then. I have doom2.wad, doom1.wad
and freedoom.wad all in my doom folder and I can choose any of them
from the drop down list.

very strange...
