[Don't Mess with Bill]

On October 23rd, 2010 at 11a.m., a special advanced screening of
"Don't Mess with Bill: The Story of Dorothy Fairbairn" will be showing
at St. Anthony Main Theatre, Screen Three. Before "gay marriage".
Before stonewall. When "out" was outlawed. The gay, lesbian, bisexual
and transgender community has made huge strides since that June
evening in 1969. Much has changed with how society looks on the GLBT
community. How much GLBT history do you know?

The film follows the life of Dorothy Fairbairn from her childhood on
Chicago's Southside in the 1930's to life as a lesbian elder in
today's world. Through interviews with Dorothy and her friends, we
will learn what life was like for lesbians in Toronto, Canada in the
1950's. We will learn about life for the Minneapolis lesbian community
in the 1960's and 1970's and how Stonewall affected the live of the
Twin Cities GLBT Community.
