Celebration of Gary Ball Announcement

Please distribute this announcement to any and all whom you deem appropriate:

There will be a memorial and celebration of Gary Ball on Sunday, June 26, at 1 pm at the Andrews Family Farm, 6803 Jay Road in Boulder. (http://www.mapquest.com/#fe166d43c6e70b35fbadac8b). This will be a time to honor Gary’s immense contribution to all of us as a community, by coming together to share food, music, memories, and love.

 

Main dishes will be provided by the friends and community of Ibrahim Kazerooni, Virginia Salazar, and Juliette Wells.  Beverages, desserts, or side dishes are appreciated.  Please contact Judith Mohling (Jud...@xbalanque.net) about what is needed, and bring labels to identify ingredients for any dish you bring.  Vegetarian and vegan food is appreciated, though not required. Food should be ready to serve, as there are no facilities for heating or refrigerating. Food will be out and available to eat the whole afternoon, so if it needs to be kept cold or hot, please pack accordingly.

 

 

Please bring your own plates, cups and utensils.  Please bring chairs, blankets, and canopies, if you have them.  We will provide tables for serving the food.  We encourage people to carpool, as there is very limited parking.

 To honor Gary’s commitment to the Earth, this is to be a zero    waste event.

 

The afternoon will consist of the sharing of Gary’s favorite music and memories and stories about Gary.  After the planned program facilitated by Elena Klaver and Linda Gore, there will be time to jam, so please bring instruments. We invite you to sing along during the afternoon.  A farm tour of the Andrews Farm CSA will be available.

 

If you are not able to join us at this time, there will be another memorial in Mendocino County, California, after Betty recovers from her upcoming surgery.  Please contact Betty Ball (bty...@gmail.com), if you want more information or to send any messages in lieu of your presence.  We will be putting together a scrapbook and welcome any contributions of photos, stories, or messages. 

 

Additionally, we will be planning a concert in Gary’s memory for later this year, and if you would like to be on a mailing list, please email Betty.
