Ask him/her to support the Lee/Nadler/Woolsey Amendment which limits funding for the Afghanistan War to the safe and responsible withdrawal of all US troops.

 

Ask your Rep to vote *NO* on the entire DoD Appropriations bill. Funding another bloated DoD budget, which devours 52% of all discretionary spending is not making us safe or secure here at home.

 

It is unacceptable that our elected officials continue to fund failed wars and wasteful Pentagon programs while calling for cuts in essential domestic programs -- jobs, healthcare, schools, student loans, firehouses, elder care, libraries, roads, bridges and transportation. Two weeks ago, the US Conference of Mayors  [ http://codepinkalert.org/article.php?id=5774 ]overwhelmingly passed a resolution to end the wars and bring the money home, amplifying the voices of their constituents. We need our elected Representatives to represent the majority of Americans, who desire a rapid end to the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and who seek a reversal of flawed budget priorities.

 

As we push for a fair budget, join this effort by calling your Representative. Congressional switchboard (202) 224 3121. Let this member of Congress know that you support the Lee/Nadler/Woolsey amendment, limiting funds for Afghanistan to the safe withdrawal of troops, and that you oppose the FY2012 Defense Appropriations bill.
