It is day eight of our annual two-week Work a Day for Rinpoche campaign. As we approach Saka Dawa on May 26th, with the increased merit potential for the day of Shakyamuni Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and parinirvana, we’re highlighting the inspirational vision of FPMT Spiritual Director and Co-Founder Lama Zopa Rinpoche and welcoming those wanting to "Work a Day for Rinpoche".
Since we began on the new moon of Saka Dawa last week, support has so far come from 24 different countries.
What Your Work a Day for Rinpoche Contribution Supports
![]()
֍ Providing access to Dharma texts, translations and education programs to tens of thousands of people around the world, mostly free or on a donation basis, to many people without a local Dharma community nearby – including the ever-growing vast treasure trove of video teachings from Rinpoche.
֍ Helping keep the global FPMT family connected and supported through our communication channels, services to affiliates, and leadership and service trainings.
֍ Directing the immense generosity of the FPMT community into millions of dollars in grants each year for dozens of vital social service projects, support for Sangha and lineage teachers, sponsorship of pujas and retreats, creation of new holy objects, and more.
All of this activity is working to fulfill Rinpoche’s vision for the organization, and is made possible by the inspiring support from our global community: in which we sincerely rejoice.
Donations received up until Saka Dawa will be dedicated that day.
As another way to participate, we are also highlighting one of Rinpoche’s other Vast Visions – encouraging recitations of the Sutra of Golden Light to be practiced around the world, to help create the causes of peace, harmony and happiness on the planet. One can find many downloadable translations of the sutra here, and be sure to report your recitations to the ongoing global count here!
With gratitude and good wishes,
Your Friends at FPMT International Office
