Hello!
Hope everyone is well.  Cherry blossoms have passed their peak in Tokyo and we’re having flurries of falling petals now.  It’s been wonderful making offerings of the blossoms and also a good reminder of life’s impermanence.
Please join us in Do Ngak Sung Juk’s activities this month.  As we’ve been living through this pandemic for 1+ year, you may be feeling it taking its toll on our mental and physical health.  So if you have questions or concerns, join us in our virtual discussion group with Venerable Pemba and ask him your questions directly.  It’s a special opportunity.  Reading sutras is another chance to virtually connect with like-minded people trying to improve circumstances in our slowly degenerating world.

Wed, April 7 Virtual Reading of the Golden Light Sutra
Sun, April 11 11:30 - 1:30 Virtual discussion group through Skype with Venerable Pemba.   Please let us know if you’d like to join our group Skype from your home.
Tues, April 20 Medicine Buddha Day (Medicine Buddha sutra at http://www.buddhanet.net/pdf_file/medbudsutra.pdf or do puja) and Green Tara Day
Wed, April 21 Virtual Reading of the Sanghata Sutra
Tues, April 27 Medicine Buddha Day (Medicine Buddha sutra at http://www.buddhanet.net/pdf_file/medbudsutra.pdf or do puja)

Greetings!
This year is moving along quickly, it’s already May!  Activities continue at Do Ngak Sung Juk and we hope you’ll make the time to join us.  Also make note of the auspicious date Wednesday, May 26, SAKADAWA.  According to the Tibetan calendar, it’s the day Buddha was born, reached Enlightenment and died.
The pandemic continues.  Japan is going through its 4th wave and Tokyo is in its 3rd state of emergency.  As mentioned earlier, FPMT’s hub, Kopan Monastery and Nunnery in Kathmandu, had been virus free for 1+ year but now monks and nuns have become infected.  Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche continues to be safe and well in isolation while busily doing pujas to rid the virus.
India is in the hot spot now.  Early in the pandemic, His Holiness the Dalai said reciting the Tara Mantra would be “beneficial to effectively contain the spread of the virus” and also recommended it for people who might have the virus.  The mantra:  “Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha.”
