Dear Friends and Family, 10/11/08
For several months we have been told that the visa should be here in two weeks. Welcome to my lesson of learning patience and trust. God has been good to us and we have not been bored for a minute. I have continued working at McKee. Odil and the kids have moved forward with the home and home schooling tasks. However, Friday morning Fed Ex returned my passport with the long awaited visa stamped inside. This opens the door for the next stage of the journey in our move to Peru. (and some of you thought we were already there)
We have continued to pray for God's leading on what to do with the house. Last spring it seemed to me like a no brainer, it should be sold, but I guess He knows the future, and what the stock market would bring. Today, I am delighted that I don't have the equity from the house invested in the market. I don't know what His plan is for the house but I believe I can trust that He will maximize our investment for its greatest eternal value.
We are making final plans and setting dates for our move to Peru. It looks like I will be working through the end of October, with a scheduled departure date around the middle of November. (unless God has another patience lesson in this for me) We have already packed much of the extra stuff in the house so now we are down to just sorting and packing the stuff we use regularly.
This may seems like a treacherous time to be moving to a different country. You may even think that I am nuts. Read Revelation, the Good Book tells us how it is going to end. Study, keep looking up. My Bible suggests it is only going to get worse before He comes. But we can trust fully in Him and His leadership in our lives. It is my goal that our family will be, where He has called us, working at what He has asked us to do, when He comes for us.
Thanks for your prayers and we will keep you in touch.
