Dear Friends and Family,
I am excited to report that we will be landing in
Lima seven days from right now. Last Friday was my last day at
McKee. I will miss both my friends and the work I have enjoyed so much,
but I know that following God into the unknown of this move to Peru is
the right decision for my family and I.
We have found a family to rent/house sit for
us. They are interested in using the house for a year or two which seems
to fit nicely into our needs for right now. It will be fun to look back at
the whole house saga in five years and see how it has worked
out.
With the future of the house settled, we are
into full speed packing. Odil actually packed a lot of the excess books
and stuff back last spring so we are not really in very bad shape.
Last week I was blessed by a local businessman
who agreed to let me rent his Lake Renegade airplane. See, unlike
Cessna's, there is not a Lake Renegade at every airport in the country. In
fact, they are quite few and far between. I had done all of my sea plane
training to date in the smaller Lake Buccaneer and wanted to get some experience
in the larger Renegade before I got to Peru. What a blessing it was to
spend half a day last Thursday with Luke Smith flying up and down the Tennessee
River in Peter Serodino's Renegade. Thank you gentlemen for helping
me round out my training for Peru. And for those of you who have not tried
it, yes, flying a sea plane is really fun, really really
fun.
I have opened up access to the Google Group where
these messages are stored so anyone can look at them. If someone would
like to be added to our update list just send me a name and email address and we
will be happy to add them so they can get the updates when they first come
out.
One of my favor hymns goes, "I don't know about
tomorrow, I just live from day to day. But I know who holds the
future." Right now we are not sure what the future holds but stay tuned,
He is leading and still in control.
Busy Packing,
Orville, Odil and Kids
