Hiya,

Just let you know, I’ll be down at the Seaxe this Thursday, opening up PaulsGigs‘ “Band Nite”:

Seaxe, Essex Arms, Brentwood
Thursday 2nd July
£3 on the door

The last one was brilliant (but quite empty) so if you find yourself walking the streets, please come down.

and now…

…Walthamstow Folk Club, last Sunday:

Although my wife tried to put me off by regailing me with news of unfortunate and tragic incidents that befall the area, I travelled into town and played the Walthamstow Folk club last Sunday 28th.

Here’s a pic of me (by Guido).  It’s in triplicate for some reason; spacewarp, probably.

I had a great time and the local inhabitants were very friendly and welcoming, not to mention talented. Dominating the night was the spectacular violin skills of the young Tom Moore.  I was, um, second fiddle.

Nevertheless, I played to Tom’s family (my own audience having been waylayed by other stuff they’d rather do) and the WF regulars and it all seemed to go down rather well.  No bottles thrown etc, although I nearly went straight over that damn chair you can see behind me in the photos!

Many thanks to Russ, Kevin and all for having me along.

Cheers

Daver
