I'm very excited about ProtoCON BC next weekend. The organizers say that they've sold 150 tickets, so there should be lots of fun playtesting new games all weekend.
If you'd like to come as a board game designer, a board game player, or both, check out
protoconbc.ca.
I've been working on
Secret Chesswords, where you cooperate with your partner by giving clues to a secret word that tells them what chess move you want them to make each turn. The core mechanic is fun, but I haven't found a great overall goal yet.
The rules for
Telepathic Chess have now stabilized. It's a four-player game where you have to predict what your partner will move. Lots of laughter in this one.
stay playful out there,
Don Kirkby
