Hard Time to Clean

I'm having a rough time. I go in cycles where I try my hardest to
clean my home. I do the basics - vacuum, sweep, dishes, laundry. But
the rest of the stuff is hard to want to keep up with. I have a 1
year old and an almost 3 year old. They, of course, make a good part
of the mess.

My husband and I have talked, and we both are like this - It's clean,
so we try wipe up messes. We pick put the dirty laundry in the
hampers, cause the floor is clean, etc. But then slowly we slack off,
and then no one cares. Dirty clothes laying wherever they were taken
off at. Wrappers wherever we unwrapped something at. Kids get ahold
of the mail (ads, junk mail we didn't throw out) and it gets all over
the house.

I've read most of the Don Aslett books that have to do with home
cleaning. I especially like the one (can't remember the name right
now) where it's bascially how to get the rest of the family to help
clean. I 100% agree - I don't make all the mess, I shouldn't have to
clean up all the mess. I stay at home, so I don't mind doing laundry,
doing dishes, vacuuming, etc. But I HATE picking up everyone's dirty
clothes all over the house. Gathering up all the dirty dishes from
each room of the house. Picking up the toys for the 100th time.

We did box up some of the kids toys to get down when they actually
want to play with them. We got some stuff to donate. I need to go
through their clothes and donate/put away from next kid/etc.

I feel like I'm on my way to having my home cleaner again, but then I
start thinking that it won't really help, because it will just be
messy again. I wish I could clean for my satisfaction and pride, but
I honestly don't get any satisfaction out of cleaning. I know I will
just have to do it again and again and again. Any help?
