Hey everybody! It has grown quiet around here so I wanted to ask you
all a question and hope to get some feedback from each and every one of
you.

Much to many of our dismay, summer has come and gone and fall has
arrived. If you are anything like a majority of people you are still in
denial and have not begun any of the fall cleanup rituals that you
usually take part in, like raking the leaves or cleaning the rain
gutters, for example. What I want to know is what sorts of things do
YOU do to get your home and family ready for fall, and what do you do
to make it as effective or fun as possible?

A common experience I'm sure many of you share with me is raking the
leaves as a child. I remember gathering the leaves into what seemed
like HUGE piles and I would run and jump into them over and over again.
I suppose-in retrospect-it probably made a bigger mess and took
five times longer to get the yard ready for winter but now that I'm
older it has truly become a fond memory of the fall for me.

Lets hear some of your fall stories, what you remember from your youth,
and what you do now to get your home ready for winter.

Looking forward to hearing some great stories.

well, since it is a long cold winter here in Alberta we have to get things
put away like the lawnmorror- wash the windows ready for the frost man -
find sand for the ice and generally all around clean up- we mulch the first
falling of leaves to protect the lawn more and also put leaves into the
rosebuds- trim the roses too------fun- hmmm-not sure that is the word when
you are over 65- LOL- we put the leaves on a tarp and then take to the
recycle dumpster- we water the spruce trees so they will not dry out over
winter- snow does not water them as the ground freezes----but the best part
is we get to do this together- and come into hot soup -home made in the
crock pot with the new veggies--
Huggles me,

Brighten the corner where you are....
