hvac issue

I took some time to learn and attempt to create an hvac page and module type in my spare time. I would like to add this to dL, but I need to ask if it is smart to do work in parallel with the upcoming 2.0 which is suppose to go AJAX. Will that completely change the code or am I safe in taking the time to do this?

I suppose we should put a post up to figure out what we want to do for
a next version(s). I know people have been looking for an HVAC module
as well. Always can do 2 versions in parallel since the AJAX impl will
take a while.

I agree to keep revising 1.x, and work on 2.x in parallel.

I have ideas for what I'd like to see in 2.x, but I think I should wait until asked for suggestions from the developers.

As for the hvac page;

-it is looking a bit crowded up in the menu bar with the new page type and I would like to suggest that we go ahead and make it modular, allowing users to enable and disable these as needed although still need to adjust for when all of them are enabled.

-if somebody could pick out (from the Crystal Clear library) some ON and OFF icons for hvac and re-size them for me for both the menu and module that would be great.

-also would like to add some hvac status' somewhere such as current inside temp, setpoint temp, system mode, fan status, and setback status. I don't think this would be a good idea to add them to the module buttons like with the light dim levels. It would be nice to put it on the global status bar, but there is still some heyu status and config info on there that takes up too much room (and I don't think the rest of the family cares about that stuff). If we still want heyu status/config stuff on there, I would propose for a second status bar that is more useful to the regular users. This would just be a first implementation...I may decide to add some smarts to it and display this information on the appropriate module button and only display the inside temp and system mode on the global status bar.
