Amazing how many times we have reaching legs in regattas and hardly practice for them. We wont let this happen in this clinic.  Reaching and downwind legs will be analyzed thoroughly, not only for speed settings but also when to sail low, when to sail high, and how to keep our eyes behind us for clear wind. Jan 18-20, 2013. 11th Caribbean Laser Midwinter Regatta. An ISAF grade 3 event. Perfect for sailors who want to continue to the Miami OCR the following week, or just enjoy warm winter sailing conditions to get a head start on the rest of the sailors.

Jan 22- 26, Master’s clinic and in-bay regatta. Designed for Laser sailors who can tack and Jibe at ease in 14 knots of wind. Here we will concentrate race planning and management. How to create a plan and execute it for the fist upwind leg. Tactic talk will include fleet positioning following the start, creating and keeping your lane. Naturally we will not forget boat handling and speed drills. Coaching during the regatta will include a preparation brief, wind shift report, expected current, and the day’s forecast. Setting individual goals for each sailor. Video of starts, mark roundings, and other aspects of the races. Feedback to sailors by the coach between races. February; Open for clubs, groups districts, teams and individuals who wish to create their own program with our staff of coaches.

Feb 7th to 14th, Master clinic for sailors who control the Laser in up to 8 knots. Most sessions will be earlier in the day, to take advantage of the lighter winds. As the group gets more comfortable we will sail out in the ocean and in the stronger winds.
