Happy Christmas everyone!
I hope this email finds you well, and please excuse me for sending an email rather than a card. Its partly due to being disorganised, and partly due to the sheer number of people I would like to get in touch with!

2009 has been eventful for me. After over a year of shamelessly trying to push nearly 200 hours of 'Take A Seat' footage on the world, The latter half of this year has brought some measured success. In July 'Take A Seat' the documentary was aired on ITV 4 and had a very positive response. Since then, the same edit has been to two festivals and enjoyed a significant amount of success winning 'The Special Jury Award' at the Banff film festival - an award designed for a film that doesn't quite fit nicely into one of the five judging categories, but deserves something anyway!! From there it has been launched on their world tour, likely touring to a venue somewhere near you. To find out more about international venues of the film festival, see http://www.banffcentre.ca/mountainculture/tour/

On January the 14th I hand in the manuscript for 'Take A Seat' the book which is scheduled to be published in May (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Take-Seat-Tandem-Twenty-Thousand-Possibilities/dp/184596585X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1261159998&sr=8-1)

So finally it looks like I'm gaining an inch here and there in my quest to be an adventure documentary film maker. And author, or just Author? Or Film Maker? Truth be told I don't really know what I am, but whatever it is I intend to get better at it. In July this year, after a book tour, I plan to cross the United States from East to West with Ernie Greenwald on the front of a very special tandem.....watch this space for more info!

Its likely that if you're receiving this email you are at least in part responsible for my modest success. Whether it be through continual encouragement, helping me out in one of the 18,449 miles of my journey or forming part of a team of people that have helped make the film or guide my questionable literary skills since my return.

To all of you I wish a very happy Christmas and Happy New Year, and sincerely hope that I hear from you all sometime in the near future.

Love
Dom
